Honey Grove, Texas -- Barbara Ann Gilbert passed away on May 15, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on June 27, 1944, Barbara was a dedicated follower of God whose faith and love for her family were paramount throughout her life.

Barbara was a devoted member of the Leslie Chapel Church of God, where she actively participated in church activities.

She found immense joy in gardening, crocheting, and baking. Her passion for baking was especially evident during the holiday season, where she delighted in sharing her homemade Christmas candies with family and friends, spreading warmth and cheer.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert Gilbert, daughter, Treasa Gilbert, sons, Wayne Gilbert, and Weldon Gilbert, grandson, Michael Morgan, and
brother. Robert McKnight.

Barbara is survived by her grandchildren: Amber Morrell (Chris), Bobby Gilbert (Amanda), Colton Gilbert, and Chris Gilbert, great grandchildren, Jaidyn, Hunter, Laura, Nathan, Jaxon, Braxton, Hadlee, and Maverick, daughter in law, Melida Colley, and two sisters, Dean Reasoner, and Lois McNally.

A graveside service honoring Barbara’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery. A family night will be held on Tuesday evening, May 19, 2026 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove.

Barbara Ann Gilbert will be remembered as a loving matriarch, a devoted Christian, and a kind-hearted friend to many. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she touched, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
