Bonham, Texas -- Billy Fein Goss passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, in Bonham, Texas. He was born at the Sanitarium Hospital in Paris, Texas on February 10, 1936.  He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Hanna Goss in 1972, his mother, Elcie Goss in 1988, and his eldest brother, Mark Hanna Goss, Jr. in 2001.

He grew up on the Goss Farm in far northeast Fannin County on the Red River. The family moved to Honey Grove in 1948. He graduated from High School at Honey Grove in 1955.  He was a standout running back for the Honey Grove Warriors football team during the mid-1950s.  He earned all-district recognition and was a key contributor to the team's championship run. He held the single game rushing record for Honey Grove for many years. He earned the nickname "Crazy Legs Goss" while playing in Honey Grove. In addition, he received several
division 1 football scholarships offers.  

He served his country in the Texas Army National Guard from 1954-63. He was a medic in Company B 117th Armored Medical Battalion where he earned an expert marksman badge and reached the rank of Sergeant. He was called up to the Army for one year during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Polk, Louisiana.

He received an associate's degree from Paris Junior College and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Psychology from East Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas. He graduated with honors and was inducted into the Alpha Psi Honor Society.

He worked his entire career at General Cable Corporation in Bonham, Texas. He was a department manager and at one time was responsible for 400 men. He retired from General Cable in 1993. His hobbies included: fishing, reading, history, sports, antiquing, and spending time with friends and family. He was a man with honor, integrity, and good character. He always looked
after and protected his younger brother as well as the younger children in school.

Bill is survived by his younger brother, Harry Franklin Goss and wife Shirley Goss of Longview, Texas. Wife: Rebecca Ann Goss of Bonham, Texas. Son and daughter-in-law: Dr. Mark and Delaina Goss of Justin, Texas. Daughter and son-in-law: Dr. Paul and Gretchen Coyner of Melissa, Texas.  Grandchildren: Hannah, Caleb, and Mikayla Coyner (children of Paul and Gretchen Coyner). Madelynn Allen and husband Bryson and Morgan Goss (children of Mark and Delaina Goss).  Great Grandchildren: Benson and Vivian Allen (children of Bryson and Madelynn Allen) Nephew: Dr. Harry Franklin Goss, Jr of Austin, Texas.  Great Nephew: Lance Goss of Austin, Texas and Great Niece: Mary Abigail Goss of Arlington, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

A private family committal will be held at Oakwood Cemetery; Cindy Baker Burnett will be officiating.
