Bonham, Texas -- Wilma Sue Jones, 81, passed away on May 21, 2026. She was born on October 1, 1944, to James Vernon Stephens and Ruby Jewell (Keene) Stephens.

Wilma married the love of her life, John Paul Jones IV, on March 14, 1964, and together they shared 62 years of love and devotion. She was a dedicated homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and creating a loving home. Wilma was also a faithful member of Park Street Baptist Church, where she found strength in her faith and fellowship with her church family.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Vernon Stephens, and her mother, Ruby Jewell Stephens, siblings, James D. Stephens, William Henry Stephens, Kenneth E. Stephens, Mary Ann Fackler, and Dorothy Lamb.

Wilma is survived by her loving husband, John Paul Jones IV of Greenville; son, Todd Aaron Jones of Greenville; grandchildren, Alyssa Jones, Madisson Jones, Mark Jones, and Ryleigh Jones; great-grandchild, Dawson Tipton; brother, Harold Stephens and wife Evelyn; along with numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Wilma will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Park St. Baptist Church in Greenville. Graveside Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the New Hope Cemetery, Ivanhoe, TX.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 26 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
