Last night, the people of Fannin County spoke, and while this was not the outcome we hoped for, I respect the voice of the voters and the process that makes our county, our state, and our country strong.
First, I want to thank every person who prayed, volunteered, shared a post, put out a sign, attended an event, made a phone call, or simply encouraged me along the way. This campaign was never about one person. It was about neighbors who care deeply about the future of Fannin County and believe local government should remain accountable to the people it serves.
I especially want to thank my family for their support, sacrifice, and patience throughout this journey.
Running this campaign gave me the opportunity to meet with citizens from every part of the county. I heard concerns about roads, infrastructure, emergency services, growth, transparency, and protecting the rural character and values that make Fannin County home. Those conversations mattered, and they will continue to matter long after Election Day.
I congratulate John Tynan on his victory and wish him success as he prepares to serve as County Judge. For the sake of Fannin County, I sincerely hope he succeeds in leading with fairness, wisdom, and respect for all citizens.
While the election is over, my commitment to this county is not. Good government requires engaged citizens, honest conversations, and people willing to stay involved even when it is difficult. I encourage everyone to continue paying attention, asking questions, and participating in local government.
Fannin County is worth that effort.
Thank you again for your trust, your support, and your friendship. May God continue to bless Fannin County and the great State of Texas.
H Compton
