Sherman, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced upcoming nightly closures of the US 82 westbound mainlanes, the US 82 eastbound and westbound frontage roads, and the US 75 southbound mainlanes beginning at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on May 31 until June 1.
The US 82 westbound mainlanes, the US 82 eastbound and westbound frontage roads, and the US 75 southbound mainlanes permit the placement of US 75 overpass bridge beams at US 82. Motorists are to follow the marked detour around the construction.
The US 82 westbound mainlane traffic will be detoured at Exit 642B, westbound exit to US 75. Follow the posted detour and re-enter US 82 westbound mainlanes near Travis Street.
The US 75 southbound mainlane closure will allow for paving the mainlanes. The US 75 southbound motorists will be detoured at Exit 65, southbound exit to Loy Lake Road, Sherman. Motorist will follow the marked detour and re-enter US 75 southbound mainlanes near Travis Street.
All closures are subject to being altered due to weather conditions, mechanical issues, or material supply issues.
During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. Motorists should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
