Conditions improve in Beaver Lake tailwater
Jun 5, 2026
Eureka Springs, Arkansas -- Shon is all smiles after catching a nice 19-inch rainbow trout while fishing with guide Austin Kennedy on the Beaver Lake tailwater recently.

Kennedy says the Army Corps of Engineers is releasing colder water through the system at Beaver Dam, and they're working with AGFC biologists to closely monitor conditions throughout the tailwater.
The colder releases have started bringing river temperature down into a healthier range for the fishery, Kennedy said, adding that fish should begin to reposition into their more traditional holding areas.
