Bonham, Texas -- We will display quilts from the Magoffin Home State Historic Site this July as part of our participation in the Bonham Quilt Hop and Fiber Arts Show on July 24 and July 25 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. James Wiley Magoffin established Magoffinsville, a forerunner of present-day El Paso, around 1849. His family later built an adobe home in 1877 that became the social center of their community, and you can visit this historic home in 2027 once renovations are complete.

Visitors may enter the Sam Rayburn House for free during the Quilt Hop and tour the rooms where these quilts are on display. Full house tours will not be available during this event. We will also offer spool knitting lessons for $1.00 per person during the Quilt Hop (supplies provided). We are grateful to the Magoffin Home SHS for allowing us to exhibit their beautiful quilts!
