Addison, Texas – Addison Oktoberfest, presented by Paulaner, is recognized as one of the best recreations of the famed Munich festival since it first brought prosts and polkas to North Texas nearly 40 years ago. For four days each September, people come together in Addison to revel in German culture, food, music and bier, enjoying a taste of the original Oktoberfest with a purely Texan twist.

The annual fest is timed to coincide with the opening weekend of the legendary Munich festival. It’s a part of the Town’s efforts to make Addison Oktoberfest the best Oktoberfest celebration in North America.

Experience traditional Oktoberfest bands, talented cultural performances and a variety of captivating entertainers on six stages throughout Addison Circle Park. Prost and polka hard in the open-air Partyhalle and Party Zelt tents, belt karaoke classics in the Lederhosen Lounge, embrace the Texas twist at the Texas Prost Stage, chill out with singer-songwriters in the indoor Kleinhalle and look up to see live skits atop the Glockenspiel Clock.

Oktoberfest guests who visit Addison from all over the Southwest and beyond will enjoy fun contests such as dachshund races, bier barrel rolling, masskrugstemmen (stein holding), Biergarten Bingo and more. The event offers fun for all ages, including a colorful Karneval and carousel for the kinderfolk plus unique shopping opportunities in the Marktplatz. Don’t forget your dirndl or lederhosen (or buy them at the festival) – dressing for the occasion is enthusiastically encouraged!

The first evening of the festival, Thursday, Sept. 17, Addison Oktoberfest will host one of the largest networking events in North Texas: Host & Prost Corporate Night, which will take over the Partyhalle for one night only. Companies are encouraged to purchase tables in the Partyhalle for their team, clients or tribe for an incredible evening of singing, dancing and games. Tables seat up to eight people and include a platter of German food with Texas flair, Paulaner bier, commemorative steins and lapel pins for each member of the group.

Make a weekend of it by booking an Addison Oktoberfest Hotel Paket, which includes quality lodging, event admission tickets, commemorative steins and more. Packages are limited, so book early!

Addison Oktoberfest is so well-regarded that it was chosen as one of 27 events featured in the Bullock Texas State History Museum’s special exhibit, Texas Festivals.” The museum, located in Austin, also selected Addison Oktoberfest as one of three festivals highlighted in a documentary-style short film that goes behind the scenes, showing the time, energy and excitement that goes into planning a festival. The exhibit will be on display through Sept. 27.
