Celebrate the Arts Festival

• Date + Location: August 15; Courtyard Theater

• Details: The annual showcase will feature a Children's Matinee at 2:30 p.m. with exciting stage performances for kids and make-and-take art alongside a hands-on musical instrument "Petting Zoo" beforehand. At 7 p.m., the Evening Showcase starts, spotlighting talent and creativity that defines Plano's vibrant arts community. Guests can explore a visual arts exhibition ahead of the evening performance and are invited to an afterparty featuring a DJ, wine, snacks and a performer meet-and-greet.

Texas Sculpts V

• Dates + Location: July 11-August 29; ArtCentre of Plano

• Details: The ArtCentre of Plano is hosting 24 talented and renowned sculptors for North Texas' premier sculpture exhibition, Texas Sculpts V through August 29. Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the sculptors featured in this year's exhibition were selected by Juror Jeanne Chvosta from among more than 80 submissions. 

Plano Art & Culture Quest 2026

• Date + Location: August 1 (12-3 pm); McCall Plaza

• Details: Experience Plano's vibrant arts scene during Art & Culture Quest, a free event held on the first Saturday of every month at McCall Plaza. Pick up a map and explore the Downtown Plano Arts District, where you can meet local artists, browse pop-up art shops and galleries, discover public art installations and enjoy the district's unique mix of boutiques, restaurants, museums and historic landmarks.

Summer Dance Showcase

• Dates + Location: August 1 (11 am-12 pm); Courtyard Theater

• Details: Celebrate local talent at Plano Metropolitan Ballet's Summer Dance Showcase at the Courtyard Theater. This family-friendly performance serves as the grand finale of the company's summer dance camps, featuring young dancers as they showcase the skills and artistry they've developed throughout the season. 

Le Train Bleu: A Journey Into Picasso

• Date + Location: August 1 (7 pm); Courtyard Theater

• Details: Experience an evening where visual art and dance come together during Le Train Bleu: A Journey Into Picasso at the Courtyard Theater. Presented by the National Ballet of Texas, this unique performance pays tribute to the 1924 Ballets Russes production featuring original designs by Coco Chanel and Pablo Picasso, followed by new works from local choreographers inspired by Picasso's iconic art.

 The Wedding Singer

• Dates + Location: July 31-August 2; Genesis Children's Theatre

• Details: Step back into the 1980s with The Wedding Singer at Genesis Children's Theatre. This energetic youth production brings the hit musical to life with memorable songs, big dance numbers and plenty of nostalgic fun as audiences follow Robbie Hart's journey from heartbroken wedding singer to finding unexpected love.

The Newsies

• Dates + Location: July 24-August 1; North Texas Performing Arts, Rodenbaugh Theatre

• Details: North Texas Performing Arts brings Disney's Newsies to the Rodenbaugh Theatre, telling the inspiring true story of Jack Kelly and a group of young newsboys who unite to fight for fair treatment in turn-of-the-century New York City.

10-Minute Comedies

• Dates + Location: July 30-August 13; Cox Playhouse

• Details: Laugh along with a collection of original short plays during Rover Dramawerks' 10-Minute Comedies at Cox Playhouse. Featuring winning entries from the theater's international playwriting contest, the production showcases hilarious works by playwrights from around the world, with audiences invited to vote for their favorite comedy.

Disney's Frozen

• Dates + Location: August 7-16; North Texas Performing Arts, Rodenbaugh Theatre

• Details: Experience the magic of Disney's Frozen as North Texas Performing Arts Repertory Theatre brings the beloved Broadway musical to the Rodenbaugh Theatre. Featuring favorite songs from the Academy Award-winning film along with music written exclusively for the stage, this heartwarming production follows sisters Anna and Elsa on an unforgettable journey of love, courage and self-discovery.
