Honey Grove, Texas -- Randy Thomas Caffee, 69, of Honey Grove, TX passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at the Honey Grove Nursing Center after a two-week stay at the center. Randy was born in Honey Grove on January 11, 1957 to Claude Thomas and Gladys Gann Caffee. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching television, especially the History Channel and British comedies and mysteries. He loved spending time over a meal with his siblings and their spouses, and he cared deeply about his closest friends and adored his grandchildren. He was of the Methodist faith.
Randy attended West Lamar ISD and then began working for Big Tex Feed Co. in Paris as a welder until he sought a degree in the nursing program at Paris Junior College. During school, he began his nursing career at what was then called Grove Manor Nursing Home in Honey Grove. Following graduation in August,1999 with a LVN nursing certificate, he completed his state boards and received his pin. He enjoyed his profession as a nurse at various locations including Bonham, Paris, Dallas, and Cooper until a debilitating stroke left him unable to work.

Randy was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Gladys Caffee, as well as his children, Cody Thomas Caffee and Jamie Miranda Frazier.
He is survived by his granddaughters and spouses, Randi Nicole Bates (Christian), Skylar Fraser (Matthew Atchley), and Carole Frazier; his great-granddaughters, Maevis Lynn Bates and Lily Dawn Atchley and great-grandson, Marshall Thomas Bates.
Randy is also survived by his sister, Jo Ann Maroney (Billy) of Greenville and brother, Claude Caffee (Barbara) of Honey Grove. He was very close to his nieces and nephews who survive him: Debbie Summers (Tony), Becky Gibbs (Bryan), Chris Caffee (Terri), and Brandon Caffee (Colleen). Also surviving is his son-in-law, John Frazier along with a host of great nieces and nephews and many well-loved cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held this Saturday, August 1 at 2:00pm at McKenzie United Methodist Church of Honey Grove. The church’s pastor, Dr. Keri Lynn Lucas and close family friend, Rev. Eugene Adams of Pacio Baptist Church in Lake Creek, will conduct the service.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the service at 2:00 p.m. in the church’s sanctuary. The McKenzie Church will host a lunch for family at 12:00 Noon in the church fellowship hall.
Interment of the remains will follow the service at the Hickory Grove Cemetery on FM Road 137, south of Petty, TX.
