Cotter, Arkansas -- It doesn't matter if the fish are big or small; the smiles say it all, and that's the case here with a young angler from Louisiana, who was fishing with his dad and brother out of Cotter Trout Dock on the White River.

The word from Cotter Trout Dock is that rainbow trout have seldom been easier to catch than they have in the last few weeks, primarily due to the low water below Bull Shoals Dam.

Minimum flows (less than 700 cfs) have been the norm for the mornings lately, while the water movement picks up to four or five units in the late afternoons and the early evening hours, as the need for power rises with north Arkansas homeowners and others indoors in the AC, to battle this heat wave.
