Honey Grove, Texas -- Dorothy "Joyce" Moreau, 85, of Honey Grove, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026. She was born on August 14, 1940, in Ruston, Louisiana, the beloved daughter of Allen and Mary Ruth Turpin. She married her husband, Clyde Douglas Moreau, on March 14, 1980, in Monroe.

Joyce attended Neville High School in Monroe, Stephens College in Columbia Missouri, and Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, and was a member of Phi Mu sorority. In her lifetime, Joyce embraced a deep passion for Christian service and connection, becoming an active participant in numerous organizations. She enjoyed her time with many Monroe organizations, including the Garden Club, National Junior League, Bayou DeSiard Country Club and the Flower Club. She was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church, and later in her life was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Honey Grove, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Mary Ruth Turpin; her husband, Clyde Moreau; daughter Allyson Anne Brakefield; and stepson, Michael Moreau.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Gerling and husband Jim of Honey Grove, and Debbie Clifton of McKinney; 5 beloved grandsons, Conner and Corbin Clifton and his significant other, Cicely Burton of Plano, Texas; Jonathan, Joshua and Jordan Gerling; brother William Allen Turpin of Tennessee; niece Allyson Turpin; and nephew Allen Turpin, Jr.

Joyce desired to express deep love and appreciation to her medical caretaker Angie Ary of Puckett Clinic in Honey Grove, and to her at home caretaker Kyla Trejo, of Honey Grove. Your loving care meant the world to her.

A funeral service at 11:00 a.m. will take place at West Side Baptist Church in Honey Grove on August 8, 2026. Brother Terry Paul Cunningham will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Lunch will be served afterwards to all attending at West Side Baptist Church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Conner Clifton, Corbin Clifton, Jim, Jonathan and Jordan Gerling, and family friend Seth Julian.
