McKinney, Texas (Aug. 4, 2026) — The City of McKinney is set to spray two areas of the city to control mosquitoes after mosquito pools tested positive for West Nile Virus.

Spraying will occur on Thursday, Aug. 6, and Friday, Aug. 7, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting, at the following locations:

• Thursday, Aug. 6: A one-mile radius around 10302 JFK Boulevard

• Friday, Aug. 7: A one-mile radius around 2800 Barnsley

Signs will be posted at major intersections to notify residents of spraying activity. Information and maps of the spray areas will also be available on the City's website at McKinneyTexas.org/MosquitoControl.

Residents in the spray areas are advised to stay indoors and bring their pets inside during the spray period. Residents who do not want spraying near their homes should contact the City of McKinney Health Compliance office at 972-547-7447.
