Dodd City, Texas -- Dodd City sophomore Kodi Dorau and junior Gracyn Shindler combined for 39 kills in a five-set loss to Greenville Homeschool in a competitive match that will help both schools get ready for district play.

Greenville led most of the first set en route to a 25-21 win. Dodd City led much of the second set only to watch Greenville rally late for a 27-25 victory.

Dodd City turned things around with a 25-20 win in the third set and then tied the match at two sets apiece with a 25-23 victory in the fourth set.

Greenville Homeschool prevailed in the tiebreaker, 15-11.  

Dodd City sophomore Kodi Dorau led the Lady Hornets with 22 kills and junior Gracyn Shindler put down 17 kills.

Kayleigh McBrayer dished out 15 assists to her Lady Hornet hitters, Adisen White handed out a dozen assists and Caroline Lackey finished with four assists.

Shindler led Dodd City with 27 digs, Dorau and McBrayer both had 15 digs, Kennedy Chaney came up with 11 digs, Makayla Camp got under seven digs and Kendyl Lindsey had five digs.

Shindler also led Dodd City at the service line with five aces, Camp was close behind with four aces and White put a pair of aces through the Greenville Homeschool defense.

Lackey, Shindler and Lindsey had one block apiece.
