Ross Fire VFD Fund established to provide critical resources for departments serving Palo Pinto and Jack counties
Bowie, Texas -- Community banks across North Texas are coming together to support the volunteer fire departments serving Palo Pinto and Jack counties as they continue battling the Ross Fire.

Volunteer firefighters have spent countless hours protecting lives, homes, ranches, businesses, and entire communities as the fire continues to impact the region. The ongoing response has placed significant demands on personnel, vehicles, equipment, fuel, and supplies.

In response, Legend Bank partnered with fellow community banks across the region to establish the Ross Fire VFD Fund, a collaborative effort to provide financial support to the Volunteer Fire Departments serving on the front lines.
Funds raised through the Ross Fire VFD Fund will help provide critical equipment, supplies, fuel, repairs, and other resources needed during and following the firefighting effort.

"The dedication and sacrifice shown by these Volunteer Fire Departments has been extraordinary," said Jay Bearden, President and CEO of Legend Bank. "These men and women leave their families, jobs, and daily responsibilities behind to answer the call when their communities need them most. They have worked tirelessly to protect lives, homes, and livelihoods throughout this fire. Community banks have always been about serving and strengthening the communities we call home, and we're proud to stand alongside our fellow community banks in support of these local heroes."

The need is personal for many in the communities affected by the fire, including members of the Legend Bank family. Delaina Henderson, SVP Loan Services and a resident of Jack County, shared a firsthand perspective on the challenges facing local Volunteer Fire Departments. "I'm sure you've seen the Ross Fire on the news. It's a massive fire, and firefighters are continuing to work tirelessly to bring it under control. Many of these Volunteer Fire Departments serve small, rural communities and are self-funded nonprofit organizations that rely on the support of people like us. I can personally tell you that our trucks at the Perrin Volunteer Fire Department, along with many in local communities, have taken a beating this week while protecting their communities. If you find it in your heart, and you can help, please do so. And please lift these folks up in prayer."

The Ross Fire VFD Fund reflects the community banking industry's long-standing commitment to helping local communities during times of need.
