Bonham, Texas -- Beverly Mills Owens, 65, of Bonham, passed away early on the morning of Saturday, August 29, 2026. She was always a very early morning person, so it was only appropriate that she had her morning coffee in Heaven.

Beverly was born on January 17, 1961 to Johnnie and Amanda Joyce Mills. She grew up and attended school in Dodd City. She never really had much interest in college, but avidly believed in hard work, which she did all of her life. She also believed in being a loving and dedicated Mom to her daughter Amanda who was born on June 24, 1989. Beverly provided many fond childhood memories for Amanda and her friends throughout school years and beyond.

Beverly believed in being a good person and she believed in the goodness of others to a fault. She tended to her father Johnnie and his wife Joy Mills with frequent phone calls and visits just as she did her mother. Blended family was fine with her because her love was given equally. She married Bryan Owens on March 28, 2014 and they shared twelve years together until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her older sister Cheryl in 2022.

Family night will be held from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Dodd City Cemetery on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Allred officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Teddy Fry, Dale Horton, Mark Kinnard, Garry Mills, Leeman Mills, Jimmy Kirkpatrick, and Bruce Mills.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Jim Mills.

Beverly is lovingly survived by her husband, Bryan of the home; father, Johnnie Mills and wife Joy; mother, Amanda Mills; daughter, Amanda Evans and husband Case; brother, Leeman Mills and wife DeeDee; brother, Joel Wright and wife Stacey; brother Mark Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews scattered throughout the country.

She is also survived by her fur babies Beaux, Buddy, Buttons and Daisy who closely tended to her throughout her illness.
