Bonham, Texas -- The 40th annual Autumn in Bonham bike rally is just a few short weeks away. Scheduled for October 3, the Bonham Area Chamber of Commerce is calling for volunteers to help make the 2026 anniversary ride the best yet.
SAG (Support and Gear) Wagon Drivers
SAG drivers are the unsung heroes of the ride, ensuring our cyclists stay safe, supported, and motivated from start to finish. As a SAG driver, you will be assigned to one of our 12 rest stops to cruise the road route to monitor cyclists. Your main job is to provide a safety net for participants who experience mechanical issues, exhaustion, or minor injuries.
Route Flagger
Volunteering as a course flagger for a bicycle rally helps keep riders safe and on the correct path.
As a flagger you will be assigned to an intersection or turn along the route and use a handheld flag to point and
guide cyclists safely in the right direction. You will not be required to stop or direct vehicle traffic. You will be provided with a high-visibility safety vest, flag, and specific instructions. You must be 18 years or older, dressed for the weather and stay alert during your shift.
Rider Support at Finish Line
This is a great opportunity for youth organizations to earn community service hours as you welcome back the riders with enthusiasm when they cross the finish line. Suggestions for Rider Support groups are to serve popsicles, cookies, fresh fruit, shaded seating area and you may even sell items to support your group’s funds.
Festival Vendor
The Autumn in Bonham Festival will run from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. We are looking for local vendors and craft
booths to join the annual finish line festival. The vendor registration form and pay scale can be found on
bonhamchamber.com under the Events tab and Autumn in Bonham.
