In Loving Memory of Deborah Ann Craft Gates

Deborah was born on August 19, 1951, in Nampa, Idaho, to James Craft Jr. and Lula Mae Sweat.

Deborah met James “Jim” Kent Gates, and the two were married on November 18, 1995, in McKinney, Texas. Together, they shared 30 years of marriage, building a life filled with family, love, and cherished memories.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, James Craft Jr. and Lula Mae Sweat Craft, and her grandson, Brian.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Jim Gates; her daughter, Michele Roberts and husband Daryl; her son, Jay Gates; her daughters, Elizabeth Nark and Rachel Aguilar and husband Max; her brothers, Alan Craft and Dave Craft; as well as nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She will be deeply missed by her family.

A private service was held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Gober Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas.

Deborah’s memory will live on through the family she loved, the lives she touched, and the many
memories she leaves behind.
