Community Art Contest winners announced

Bonham, Texas - The Creative Arts Center recently announced the winners of their 2026 Community Art Contest.

Jennifer Owen took home Best of Show ribbon and $200 cash prize for her acrylic piece entitled “Breakin’ Free.”

Tatiana Suvorova Murray won First Place honors and $150 for her oil painting  “Our Morning Glories.”

Murray also earned Second Place honors and $125 for her watercolor “Carleton House, Bonham.”

Third place honors and $100 went to John Willson for his acrylic painting called “Les Damoiselles.”

Dr. Trina Harlow was this year’s contest judge.  This year’s contest attracted 21 artists who entered a combined 44 entries.  All entries are on display at the Creative Arts Center until the end of September.  Most pieces are available for sale and some have already sold.

There is also a special exhibit up in the East Gallery entitled “Loretha Riales Retrospective Show.”

This exhibit contains beautiful watercolors painted by local artist Loretha Riales.  Many of the paintings have already sold and others are priced to sell.

The nonprofit art gallery is open Tuesday – Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to noon and is located at 200 W 5th in historic, downtown Bonham.  Free admission and all are welcome to stop by and view the artwork.
