Blue Ridge, Texas -- The Leonard Lady Tigers improved to 23-8 on the year and moved into a three-way tie atop District 10-3A with an impressive three-set win over the Blue Ridge Lady Tigers.
Leonard had to outlast Blue Ridge to take the first set; the opener was tied 26-26 when Leonard put down the final two points for a 28-26 victory.
The Lady Tigers followed up with wins of 25-17 and 25-19 to earn a sweep on the road.
Leonard sophomore Leah Stoy slammed down 18 kills and Ashlynn Cavender was also in double digits with a dozen kills.
Bella Neaville knocked down eight kills, Avery Ross finished with five kills, Caroline Holton contributed four kills, with Ava Flowers and Olivia Aylor collecting one kill apiece.
Flowers handed out 39 assists to her Lady Tiger hitters and came up with 11 digs.
Aylor had a team-high 15 digs, Stoy had 13 digs, Emma Houser got under 12 digs, Holton had five digs and Jasper Cunningham had three digs.
Leonard, Gunter and Howe are in a logjam atop District 10-3A with matching 3-1 records.
Leonard will host Lone Oak for a non-district match on Tuesday and then district play resumes when the Lady Tigers host Howe on Friday, September 25, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
