Bonham, Texas -- Gary “Duane” Hosick, 79, passed away on September 28, 2026. Duane was born on July 21, 1947, in Bonham, Texas, to Henry “Slim” Revere Hosick and Velma Haggard Hosick.

Duane was a proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force as Sargent of Communication, with high security clearance while stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Chicago, Illinois for four years during the Vietnam War. He worked for Texas Instruments, which later became Air Liquide, for 53 years. On April 15, 1976, he married the love of his life, Virginia Ray Nix, with whom he shared many wonderful years.

Duane was also a Master Masons at the Blue Lodge in McKinney, Texas and a Patron Eastern Star in McKinney, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry “Slim” Revere Hosick and Velma Haggard Hosick; and two brothers, Thomas Wayne Hosick and Henry Gene Hosick.

Duane is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Hosick; stepson, James Bagley; sister, Elaine Gibbs; niece, Debbie and husband Bob Baggett; grandnephew, Bryan Baggett and wife Danna; grandniece, Brandy Romano and her children, Keoni, Aidan, and Lilly; nephew, Roger Gibbs; grandniece, Karla Cihal and husband Shorty Cihal and daughter Kylee Luedke; great-nieces, Laci Hardin and Brooke Belido; and great-great-nieces, Justyce Ojeda and Brooke Rivera.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2026, at New Hope Cemetery in Ivanhoe, Texas. The service will be officiated by Brother Kirk Taylor of Grace Fellowship Church.
