The Ector Lady Eagles showed exactly what it means to win as a TEAM in an incredible five-set thriller, battling through adversity, mistakes, momentum swings, and pressure to come away with the victory.

Ector dropped the opening set 14-25 before responding in an unbelievable second-set battle, fighting their way to a 32-30 win. After falling 20-25 in the third, the Lady Eagles refused to let the match slip away. They answered with a strong 25-18 fourth-set victory and carried that momentum into the deciding fifth, finishing the job 15-10.

Final: Ector wins 3-2
14-25, 32-30, 20-25, 25-18, 15-10

While individual performances were impressive, the story of this match was what the Lady Eagles accomplished together.

As a team, Ector combined for an incredible:

45 KILLS • 148 DIGS • 12 BLOCKS

Those numbers tell the story of a team willing to do whatever was needed for one another.

The Lady Eagles won the battle between the ball and the floor an incredible 148 times. They put away 45 kills offensively and added 12 blocks at the net. It took contributions from every part of the court to survive five sets and earn this win.

More importantly, when things became difficult, this group stayed in the same boat and kept rowing together.

There were moments of greatness, and there were moments of struggle. There were mistakes, long rallies, tough points and opportunities where it would have been easy to let frustration take over. Instead, the Lady Eagles continued building one another up, fighting for the next ball and believing in the teammate beside them.

That is what makes this group so special. They are selfless. They genuinely love seeing their teammates succeed and shine. It isn’t about who gets the kill, who makes the dig or who gets the block — it is about doing whatever it takes to help the TEAM succeed.

Adalynn Dederick turned in an outstanding all-around performance with 2 aces, 9 kills, 16 assists, 20 digs and 3 blocks. Ella Laymance added 1 ace, 3 kills and 20 digs. Audrey Arie anchored an incredible defensive effort with 3 aces and a remarkable 52 digs.

Alana Mackey contributed 9 kills, 19 assists and 26 digs. Odette Cruz added 3 kills and 2 blocks. Ainsley Greathouse recorded 2 aces and 20 digs. Aleea Wheeler finished with 9 kills, 5 digs and a team-high 5 blocks, while Cheyenne Beaty powered down a team-high 12 kills while adding 2 blocks and 5 digs.

Five-set matches reveal a lot about a team. This one showed that the Lady Eagles know how to stay connected when things aren’t going perfectly. They know how to celebrate one another in the great moments and, even more importantly, how to pick each other up during the difficult ones.

They kept fighting. They kept believing. They kept the ball off the floor.

And when the match was on the line, they were all still in the same boat, rowing in the same direction.

That’s TEAM volleyball. That’s Lady Eagle volleyball.  MAKING OUR PRESENCE KNOWN!!
