Red River Hauntings: History, Mystery & Ghost Stories

Denison, Texas -- Join us for an evening of haunted history, true ghost stories, and local legends as we explore the darker side of historic Downtown Denison, Texas!

For years, local historian and author Natalie Clountz Bauman has shared the chilling stories behind some of Denison’s most historic locations. This year, she is turning over the tour guide lantern to her daughter, Amanda Bauman Ewton, who will continue the tradition with updated information, new details, and plenty of spine-tingling tales.

This approximately 2-hour walking tour features 8 stops throughout Downtown Denison. We will meet at Heritage Park before making our way along the sidewalks to:

Hotel Denison • Rialto Theater • Main Street Mall • Barrett Building • Denison Visitor Center • Raynal’s Store • Cursed Corner • Old Railroad Museum

At each stop, you’ll hear about the real people, historic events, unexplained encounters, and ghostly activity that have become part of Denison’s haunted history.

Want to do a little ghost hunting of your own? Feel free to bring your favorite paranormal investigation gear, such as an EMF meter, spirit box, or aura glasses. Ghost-hunting equipment is completely optional—all you really need is a comfortable pair of walking shoes and a little courage!
