Sherman, Texas -- The Board of Directors of Alpha Lambda Delta announced that Austin College student Mia Housey ’28 has been awarded a Jo Anne J. Trow Undergraduate Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Housey, who is double majoring in business administration and east Asian studies, hails from Dallas, Texas. She serves as vice president of AC Fit, is a student-intern for CREATE, and a Peer Mentor for First-Year Experience.

“ALD has given me purpose,” said Housey. “As the president of the Austin College chapter, I get to serve the community by creating fun, purposeful events while also strengthening my own abilities. Being able to cultivate the experience and model the standards—truly giving me the opportunity to share my ideas and bring them to life—is a privilege I cherish. As this is my second year as president, I can’t wait to do it all over again!”

The Jo Anne J. Trow Scholarship was started in 1988, in honor of a past President of Alpha Lambda Delta. Fifty scholarships are given annually by ALD to its members from an international pool of competitive applicants. Award amounts range from $1,000 to $6,000 and are used to assist members in completing their undergraduate degrees.
