North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) announces that Fannin County Purchasing Agent, Edwina Lane, has completed an eight-month-long program for New & Emerging Procurement Officers.

According to Mike Eastland, Executive Director, "We believe it will be individuals like Edwina who will help keep our region at the forefront of county leaders.  t will also be progressive employers like Fannin County who continue to support ongoing training and development in our industry."

This program served as the second season of developing current and future leaders in the public procurement industry. It was an application/referral process whereby NCTCOG selected a cohort of 21 individuals to participate. Over the past eight months, Edwina attended at least six of the eight sessions to learn various aspects of the industry and take deep dives into critical issues of their job and responsibilities as a public procurement official. The classes were daylong events, presented by experts in the field and facilitated by experienced professionals. Successful completion of the NEPO program required active participation in session discussions, homework, and contribution to a group project.
