Anna, Texas (May 20, 2024) – The City of Anna has been named one of the top 4 fastest-growing cities in the United States with a population over 20,000, according to the latest Census data. Anna’s population surged by 17% over the past year, underscoring its status as an emerging prime destination for business development and reflecting the community’s attractive living conditions and robust economic opportunities.
“Our significant population increase is a testament to our city’s economic opportunities and quality of life. There is a tremendous opportunity here for new businesses to succeed and make Anna their home,” said Bernie Parker, Director of the Economic Development Corporation.
“We are focused on quality growth and are investing heavily in our infrastructure to ensure that we can effectively manage the increase in population. Our goal is to maintain the high living standards our neighbors expect while accommodating the influx of new families and businesses,” said City Manager Ryan Henderson.
Anna's strategic location, affordable housing and robust infrastructure investments have made it a magnet for residential and commercial development. Notable residential developments include The Woods at Lindsey Place, The Villages of Hurricane Creek, Meadow Vista, and Crystal Park, which collectively represent over $1.8 billion in projected value at full buildout. Additionally, the AnaCapri project will feature 1,300 single-family lots, 600 multifamily units, and a commercial sector anchored by a crystal lagoon, valued at over $800 million.
Multifamily projects such as Waterview, Palladium East Foster Crossing, and The Quinn, among others, contribute significantly to the housing landscape with over 3,000 units under development, collectively valued at $800 million.
Commercial development is also thriving, highlighted by the sale of Anna Business Park for $12 million and the recruitment of major retailers and restaurants like Home Depot, Starbucks, and Texas Roadhouse. Significant projects include the recruitment of Holt Cat, valued at $40 million, and various incentive agreements that have attracted businesses like 3 Nations Brewing and Wyndham Garden Inn.

Additionally, Anna secured $1 million in downtown grants and developed comprehensive economic development strategies and marketing initiatives, earning multiple awards for these efforts.
