Bonham, Texas – Funeral service for Carolyn Sue Orr, 82, of Bonham, TX is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Bonham. Bro. Morgan Malone, Bro. Ken Ussery, and Bro. Andrew Malone will officiate. Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, TX.

Mrs. Orr passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at her home in Bonham, TX, surrounded by her loving family.

Sues favorite color was pink and she would be delighted if you chose to wear pink to her funeral service.

Carolyn Sue Madison was born May 16, 1942 to Preston and Dale Madison, in Randolph, TX. She married the love of her life Billy Ray Orr on May 6, 1961 in Savoy, TX. Sue worked as an auditor for the State of Texas for 33 years.

Sue enjoyed crocheting blankets, hats, scarves, and lap robes for her friends and the shut-ins of her church family. Billy and Sue loved traveling all over the United States in their motorhome; together they attended his yearly Navy Reunions and served as host to three of the Reunions.

The Orr’s were members of the First Baptist Church of Bonham. Mrs. Orr has been a breast cancer survivor since 2002 and was active in Relay for Life and served as chairperson and a volunteer.

She is survived by granddaughter Ame Fritts and husband David of Bonham, TX; step grandchildren Marla White and husband Marty of Denison, TX and Rodney Lackey and wife Jeanette of McKinney, TX, great grandchildren, and light of her life Lukas Fritts and Mackenzie Fritts, step great granddaughters; Olivia White, Saleen White, and Taryn Lackey ; sister Joyce Reynolds of Savoy, siter-in-law Shirley Bingham and husband Jim of Bonham, TX, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Sue is preceded in death by her beloved husband Billy Ray Orr, daughter Suzie Lackey, and her parents Preston and Dale Madison.

Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Lackey, David Fritts, Chad Whisenhunt, Colten Raper, Justin Rhudy and Jackie Reynolds.

Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Lukas Fritts.
