McKinney, Texas -- The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is thrilled to announce the return of its most popular exhibit, “Dinosaurs Live!,” now in its 19th year. Opening on August 31, 2024, and running through February 17, 2025, this exhibit promises to captivate visitors of all ages with life-size animatronic dinosaurs and a prehistoric experience like no other.

A Journey Back in Time

“Dinosaurs Live!” transports guests back to the age of the dinosaurs, featuring a thrilling display of life-sized, moving, and roaring dinosaur models. Highlights of this year’s exhibit include the towering Tyrannosaurus rex, the ceratopsian Chasmosaurus, and the formidable Suchomimus. These representations, complete with realistic movements and sounds, offer a fascinating glimpse into the prehistoric world.

Interactive and Educational Fun

The exhibit not only showcases impressive dinosaur models but also includes interactive elements and educational opportunities. Visitors can explore a fossil dig site, engage with informative displays, and participate in hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and wonder. Special Events and Activities

The Heard has a number of fun events planned around the 19th annual “Dinosaurs Live!”:

• Jurassic Night Out: On September 7, 2024, the Heard will host an epic adults-only evening under the stars featuring a showing of the original 90’s blockbuster Jurassic Park in their outdoor amphitheater. Guests will also be surrounded by the life-size animatronic dinosaurs along our nature trail. The event will also include delicious food vendors and a cash bar with a selection of beverages. 
• Halloween at the Heard: On October 12, 2024, this premier family-friendly Halloween event will offer the joy of trick-or-treating along the eerie “Dinosaurs Live! exhibit trail. Families will enjoy an evening full of fun activities, including a presentation of a movie on the Heard’s outdoor amphitheater stage.
• Holidays at the Heard: On December 6 and 7, 2024, Holidays at the Heard brings the beauty of the holiday season into nature. Holiday lights and décor will accentuate a lovely half-mile Heard nature trail. Plus, guests will get a glimpse of the “Dinosaurs Live!” exhibit along the trail.
