Dallas residents and SMU community are invited
to attend the discussion on Oct. 16
(SMU) – SMU’s Tower Center will host a roundtable discussion about the upcoming 2024 U.S. election and how its results will impact the future of American politics from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Crum Family Auditorium. The discussion will feature SMU political scientists Cal Jillson and Matthew Wilson and will be moderated by Lee Cullum, Tower Center fellow and host of the KERA radio show, CEO.
“In this polarized political environment, both the presidential and Texas Senate races are extremely close,” said Wilson, director of SMU’s Center for Faith and Learning and associate professor of political science. “This event will provide a sense of what the stakes are, where the parties and candidates stand, and the best- and worst-case scenarios for each side heading into Election Day.”
Political science professor Jillson adds, “The 2024 election raises many questions; we hope to answer some of those questions and throw light on a few more, though the ultimate question – who will win – likely will remain elusive.”
Free parking will be available for members of the Dallas community in the Binkley Parking Center.
