On Sunday afternoon, November 17, 2024, 3:00-5:00 p.m., Adler & Hearne will be performing at Harmony House Concerts. YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND!! The last time they performed here we had the concert on the back deck, but it was a crisp October day then. November is usually a bit nippy, so just count on an indoor show. They sound as good in either environment.
Adler & Hearne, The Song Farmers ~ A spirited blend of original Folk Jazz with deep Texas roots.
To make reservations for this event, which happens to be our last house concert for 2024 season, please call 903-583-2661. Leave your name, contact info (emails preferred), and # of seats desired. Reservations are $25 per person---cash or check made out to ‘Lynn Adler’, please. We guarantee an afternoon filled with Lynn & Lindy's ‘organic songs’ straight from their Spring Hollow Organic Song Farm in the Piney Woods of Texas (and sometimes in New Mexico). Please make reservations early, as seating is limited. If you make a reservation, please have the courtesy of showing up or cancelling in a timely way. No-shows are a NO-NO!
Adler & Hearne will play two 45-minutes sets with a 30-minute intermission for mingling , grazing from a table of goodies, or shopping at the CD table. Your hosts for Harmony House Concerts are Faye and Scott, who have been providing a community of music lovers with the cream of the crop when it comes to independent singer-songwriters for over 15 years. Honestly, we just cannot wait to see you here---whether you are one of our returning regulars or a first-timer. Harmony House is located on Wildscape Acres, 160 acres of meadows and woodlands, just 10 miles North of Bonham, TX, and about 65 miles NE of the Dallas metroplex. If you need directions, please indicate this when you make your reservations. We will then furnish you with our physical address or send you a Word.doc attachment with detailed directions, or both.
We will provide bottomless cups of coffee, tea, and a variety of Faye's punch concoctions (mostly, organic juices mixed with some herbal tea) that pack a punch. Faye and Scott will also provide a variety of cheeses and crackers for snacking, and whatever munchies Faye can prepare. Guests are requested to bring a finger food for sharing with other guests. Somehow, with little planning on my part, the snack tables always have yummy foods. Note: We do have some guests who are gluten-free, so if you were planning to bring your gluten-free pumpkin muffins, go right ahead.
I (Faye) hope I have not forgotten to mention anything of note (pun intended) in this press release. If so, don't hesitate to call us at 903/583-2661 (landline . . . no texts).
More about Adler & Hearne www.adlerandhearne.com
From Texas' upper east side near the arts hamlet of Winnsboro, award-winning singer-songwriters Lynn Adler and Lindy Hearne connect with audiences coast to coast. Honored to be selected by the Texas Commission on the Arts to serve on the state’s official Texas Touring Roster, the husband-wife duo enjoys the title of Official Texas Touring Artists for the September 2020-2024 touring season. (Adler & Hearne have served on the roster since 2014.)
Their music is a signature blend of original folk, jazz and blues with deep Texas roots. With 13+ recordings and decades of touring between them, their repertoire is playful, poignant, and poetic -- including sparky love ballads, historically based tributes, quirky story songs, and anthems of justice and peace.
Raised by musical families and nurtured by music ensembles through college, the husband-and-wife duo met in Nashville, and now pay it forward together in performances from listening-room venues, festivals and community events to churches, libraries, schools, and house concerts.
Lynn co-wrote the theme song for the hit PBS children’s TV series, Wishbone. Her diverse writing background brings added experience to the duo's workshops and presentations. Lindy sang in the famed Texas Boys Choir as a child, and for several years he and his band were Roy Clark’s backup group performing with Roy from Las Vegas to Hee Haw to Carnegie Hall.
Adler & Hearne’s songs share a common bond with the human experience of us all. The vibe of their shows is a thoughtful balance: Think song circle between Johnny and June Cash, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Astrud Gilberto, and Gordon Lightfoot and Joni Mitchell.
P.S. FYI: Mark your calendars for our first 2025 Harmony House Concert on Saturday evening, January 11, '25, 7-9 pm, with John Flynn from Delaware . . . great songs, great man!!
