Greenville, Texas -- Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at noon at the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum for a presentation by Terry Thomas. He will be speaking about his time with Air Force One, Presidential Missions, and Aircraft Maintenance & Modifications.
Mr. Thomas joined the Air Force in 1966 and was a Rescue Fire/Protection Specialist for 4 years. He cross-trained after his initial enlistment into Aircraft Maintenance as a Crew Chief and Flight Mechanic. He was a finalist in the Top 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Air Force, served as a Maintenance Superintendent of a major Tactical Training Wings, 2 F-15 and 1 T-33 Squadrons. He was also the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Wing Commander overseeing 1,580 enlisted personnel. He flew on the C-141, C-5A, VC-137 and E-4B aircraft and has 47 Presidential Support Missions to his credit. He served 24 years on active duty before retiring in 1991.
After retiring, Mr. Thomas went on to work for L3 for 17 years before becoming a Director & Vice President of Sales and Marketing supporting 9 different hotels for 11 years. Currently, he is the Mayor Pro-Tem/City Councilman for Place 1. Admission to the program is free for museum members; otherwise there is a general admission of $8 adults, $6 seniors/veterans/college students and $3 6-18 yr. olds.
