Denison, Texas -- The Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site is starting a Friends Group! Please consider joining us.
Did you know that the Eisenhower Birthplace in Denison first opened to the public in 1946?
Volunteers from Denison and throughout North Texas came together to purchase the home of General Dwight D. Eisenhower and opened it to the public. Volunteers kept the site open and gave tours for many years.
Once again, Eisenhower Birthplace is looking for help with growing the site and its programs with a friends group. It’s an exciting time for the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site. We have raised funds for a new entrance and a new visitors center. Find out about the ideas for improving access to the site.

Join us on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 pm for an evening of inspiration, connection, and a behind-the-scenes look at the exciting future we’re building! We’ll chat about our upcoming events and site plans, explore the grounds on a guided tour, and dive into what it takes to create a dynamic, energetic Friends Group.
This is your chance to help shape the future of a local treasure — and have a great time doing it. Plus, we’ll have a light meal ready to keep your brain fueled and your stomach happy.
For questions or to RSVP, please call 903-465-8908 or email eisenhower.birthplace@thc.texas.gov.
